Olympus E-3: “European Advanced Camera 2008-2009”
The EISA jury was not left wanting for arguments to justify conferring the best “European Advanced Camera 2008-2009” Award on the Olympus E-3. They were clearly enthused about the Olympus flagship D-SLR: “It provides very effective image stabilisation, dust removal and a Live View function on the articulated LCD screen, but most importantly, its image quality and ease of use are very impressive”, said EISA, who also praised the camera’s robust build and splashproof qualities. The jury summed up by saying: “The Olympus E-3 is perfectly suited for professional demands”.
EISA (European Imaging & Sound Association) is comprised of around 50 prominent magazines in the areas of audio, video, home theatre, mobile electronics and photography from 20 European countries. Each year it honours the best newly-released products in recognition of their features, quality and general appeal to users.

ED 12-60mm 1:2.8-4.0 SWD
ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-60mm 1:2.8-4.0 SWD (24-120mm)* -objektiivi voitti TIPA-palkinnon From extreme wide angles to tele shots, the ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-60mm 1:2.8-4.0 SWD (24-120mm)* lens has all bases covered. On top of powerful 5x zoom performance, the TIPA jury noted that: “With its fast aperture of 1:2.8-4.0, it’s suitable for use in all lighting conditions”. The lens’ rugged dust and splashproof build along with the inclusion of SWD technology – enabling the world’s fastest autofocusing speeds** – were further winning arguments cited by TIPA in choosing to bestow it with the “Best Expert Lens 2008” award. The judges concluded that the ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-60mm 1:2.8-4.0 SWD (24-120mm)* lens represented “a very attractive option for all Four Thirds users”.

ED 12-60mm 1:2.8-4.0 SWD
ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-60mm -objektiivi sai dpreview:ltä "Highly recommended" -palkinnon "Indeed the Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 SWD is quite simply a superb lens, which can lay claim to being one of the very best standard zooms currently available. This is a design which would have been almost unimaginable even five years ago; a 5x wideangle to telephoto zoom which, though the use of some exotic optics, manages to perform almost flawlessly across its entire range, and throws in some impressive macro performance too." Olympus E-3 wins Pixelmania Award
The E-3 scored big with the Dutch digital photography website Pixelmania.nl. The newest professional D-SLR from Olympus took home the site’s Pixelmania Award, presented to the highest scorers in its consumer tests. In their report, testers noted that “...the E-3 really taps the full potential of the amazing Top Pro Zuiko lenses”. They were especially impressed by the image quality of the sample shots, calling them the best they had seen so far. The Dutch experts also compared the E-3’s colour rendition chart at ISO 3200 to that of the Canon 40D, concluding that even at high ISOs the E-3 exhibits just as little image noise as the 40D.
